Indirect Tax Accountant

As an Indirect Tax Staff Accountat, you will be responsible for preparing transaction tax returns. Returns are filed in state and local tax jurisdictions throughout the United States for multiple companies

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and file indirect tax returns including sales, use, gross receipts, and telecomPrepare tax returns using Vertex Returns and other software
• Analyze GL, reconciliations, and tax reports to ensure accurate reporting of tax. Reconcile data between systems to ensure integrity and accuracy
• Monitor tax data to identify variances
• Ensure timely and accurate filings to minimize assessments and penalties. Monitor applicable pre-payments and credits
• Resolve notices and outstanding tax issues
• Renew business licenses and respond to internal & external customer inquiries

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• Experience using Vertex software is a plus

Skills and Qualifications:

• Critical thinking and a high degree of enthusiasm with the ability to analyze large amounts of data and multi-task
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to details
• Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment. Must be a self-starter with an upbeat and positive attitude
• Strive to achieve effective performance within the team, working for the overall success of the company

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
