Senior Mobile QA Automation Engineer

As a Senior Automation Engineer, you will drive quality initiatives across both native mobile and backend systems to ensure the stability, scalability, and performance of the Boost Mobile app. This role requires deep expertise in automation frameworks and hands-on experience with tools like Appium, Cucumber, Perfecto, and Rest Assured. You'll work in a fast-paced Agile environment, closely collaborating with developers, QA, and product teams to deliver seamless and high-quality mobile experiences to millions of users.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable native mobile test automation frameworks for iOS and Android using Java, Appium, Cucumber (BDD), and Perfecto cloud-based infrastructure.
• Build and execute robust end-to-end test suites covering functional, regression, and smoke testing for mobile applications.
• Develop and maintain API test automation using Rest Assured, ensuring backend service reliability and integration validation.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab, Harness), enabling efficient, automated regression and nightly runs.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA team members to define test strategies, acceptance criteria, and quality gates across the SDLC.
• Analyze test results, debug failures, and provide detailed defect reports using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Drive improvements in automation efficiency, test data management, and reporting (e.g., using ExtentReports, MasterThought, etc.).

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent practical experience.
• 6+ years of experience in QA/Automation, with a strong focus on native mobile apps and API testing.

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in Java for test development and scripting.
• Hands-on experience with Appium, Cucumber (BDD) with Gherkin, and Perfecto for mobile test automation.
• Experience in REST API automation using Rest Assured or similar frameworks.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD integration, source control, and pipeline tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, Harness).
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and working in fast-paced sprint cycles.
• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail).

The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, and competencies; compensation is based on the role's location and is subject to change based on work location.
