In the fast-paced world of technology, adaptability is the key to success. At EchoStar, we are embracing change and actively shaping our future to become a powerful, asset-light growth company. This pivotal moment is defined by strategic leadership appointments and, most importantly, the unification of our technology teams. This move is designed to accelerate innovation and deliver on our mission of connecting people and things. For candidates looking to join a company at the forefront of this transformation, our recent organizational changes provide a clear look at where we’re headed and the incredible opportunities that lie ahead.

Your Opportunity for Adventure

The opportunities that lie ahead are all about adventure. Adventure has always been one of our core values, and we are looking for passionate technologists, engineers and leaders who are excited by the prospect of working with a portfolio of brands and contributing to a mission that is changing the way the world communicates.

The new leadership team is committed to leveraging emerging technologies like generative AI to drive our strategy forward. This is a chance to be a key player in a global transformation. We are confident that the combined talent of our Boost Mobile and Hughes teams, under this new structure, will lead us into an exciting future.

The time to join EchoStar is now. If you are a candidate who thrives on adventure, embraces change and is eager to contribute to groundbreaking technology, we invite you to be a part of this new era. The unification of our technology teams is a powerful signal that we are building the future, and we're looking for the best and brightest to help us do it.

The Power of Unification: Boost Mobile and Hughes

A cornerstone of this strategic realignment is the unification of the technology teams that support Boost Mobile and Hughes. Historically, these two powerhouses operated on separate technological tracks: Hughes in the satellite communications space and Boost Mobile in the terrestrial wireless space. The new structure allows these teams to merge their capabilities, creating a unique synergy.

The Benefits for Candidates are Immense:

  • Providing Varied Technical Exposure: Imagine working on a project that combines the precision of satellite technology with the agility of a cloud-native 5G hybrid Mobile Network Operator (MNO). With our teams now unified, you'll have the opportunity to gain expertise in a variety of wireless technologies, as well as hybrid cloud and advanced data solutions. This cross-functional exposure is an invaluable asset for any career.
  • Solving Complex, Integrated Challenges: Unification allows our teams to tackle bigger, more complex problems. Our combined expertise can be leveraged to create new solutions that seamlessly blend satellite and 5G services, providing unparalleled connectivity for customers and partners. You’ll be at the forefront of this work, contributing to truly revolutionary projects.
  • Accelerating Innovation: By breaking down traditional barriers, we can accelerate the pace of innovation. The new structure of our technology teams fosters an environment where ideas and solutions can be shared and implemented more quickly across different technologies and brands.

A Unified Vision for Technology and Leadership

We’re committed to leveraging our portfolio of brands with a best-in-class technology strategy. To lead this charge, we have appointed Eben Albertyn to the newly created role of Executive Vice President, Chief Technology and Information Officer (CTIO). Eben, who has a proven track record of success across seven countries and four continents. His passion for technology and forward-thinking leadership are exactly what we need to guide our combined IT and tech teams into a new era.

This unified approach to technology leadership is mirrored in two other key appointments. Jeff McSchooler, a 30-year EchoStar veteran, has been named Executive Vice President, EchoStar Technologies. Jeff is a talented engineer and a passionate leader who will unify engineering and platform operations for all our award-winning products and brands. His team will create shared capabilities across hybrid cloud, data networking and network operations, leveraging the expertise he gained from building our cloud-native 5G core.
